DATE TOMATO SAUCE - USES AND CONSUMPTION:<\/b><\/h4>\n

The tomato is one of the main ingredients in Sicilian cuisine. Its uses are as varied as its forms and transformations. From the confit tomato to the carter tomato, right up to the most loved and used: the sauce.<\/p>\n

In Sicily, the two main types of tomatoes used to make the sauce are the cherry tomato and the date tomato. The latter has a more elongated shape, just like that of the date tomato, and a sweeter, more aromatic flavour.<\/p>\n

Our date tomato sauce is made with 97% of date-type tomatoes, which makes it sweet and delicate, like homemade. It is an excellent sauce that is quick and easy to make, just a few minutes of cooking in a frying pan is all that is needed to complete its preparation, after which it can be sprinkled over pasta by adding basil and a generous amount of salted sheep's milk ricotta cheese, and is excellent for seasoning meat or fish dishes or even on bruschetta and pizzas.<\/p>\n
