BRONZE DURUM WHEAT BUSIATE - USES AND CONSUMPTION:<\/h4>\n

Busiata is a type of pasta typical of the Sicilian tradition, and has its origins in the city of Trapani, with its particular curled shape. The bronze durum wheat busiata are made with ancient Sicilian grains of the highest quality.<\/p>\n

To make our busiate today we use bronze-drawing machines, but in ancient times, the main tool, which gave the characteristic spiral shape, was said to be the busio, the stem of a native grass, the disa, from which the name of this pasta is thought to derive.<\/p>\n

Their characteristic spiral shape allows them to hold sauces and condiments exceptionally well. According to Sicilian culinary tradition, busiate go very well with the classic Trapanese pesto made with almonds, fresh tomato, basil and mint, with swordfish sauce and with a simple but tasty pasta with fresh tomato and basil. For meat-based recipes, try it with Sicilian black pork ragout.<\/p>\n
